Official Opening of UWA Pharmacy
| On September 21st, 2005, a ceremony was held at the University Club of W.A. to celebrate the start of the new Master of Pharmacy programme at UWA. Attending the occasion where pharmacists representing the breadth and depth of pharmacy in W.A. - including representation from community, hospital and consultant pharmacy, the Pharmacy Guild, Pharmaceutical Council of W.A., PDL, NPS and the pharmaceutical industry. Also in attendance was Professor Margaret Sears, Deputy Vice Chancellor at UWA; Professor George Stewart, Dean, Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences; Professor Geoffery Stewart, Head, School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences, and other professional and UWA staff contributing to the programme. In between drinks and savouries, the evening included a few words by Associate Professor Alan Everett, Director, Pharmacy Programmes at UWA thanking all those who have contributed to the programme so far, Mrs Lennette Mullen, President of the Pharmaceutical Council of W.A. wishing the programme every success and Professor George Stewart, Dean of the Faculty providing a background and context to the programme. Very kind words were also expressed by Mr David Gulland and Ms Samantha Bell, two students now enrolled in the programme.
A very pleasant evening was had by all, particularly the students judging from the montage of photographs taken on the night.
